Terms of Business — For Candidates (Work-Seekers)
Last updated: 7 August 2026
These terms apply to you when you register with EXPND as a candidate seeking placement in a sales role (setter, dialler, closer, BDR, or SDR positions). They're provided in line with the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003.
1. Our role
EXPND acts as an Employment Agency in relation to you — meaning we introduce you to businesses for permanent placement, rather than employing you ourselves to supply your services to clients on a temporary basis. You become directly employed (or otherwise directly engaged) by the hiring business, not by EXPND. [This reflects your stated model — a solicitor should still confirm this in writing before launch, particularly if any future placements are structured as temporary/agency-employed rather than direct permanent placement, as that would require different wording.]
2. No fees for placement, ever
You will never be charged a fee by EXPND for finding, securing, or placing you into work. This is a legal requirement, not a courtesy. If anyone claiming to represent EXPND asks you for payment specifically to be placed, referred, or considered for a role, this is not legitimate — contact us immediately at james@expnd.co.uk.
3. Training Program Fees
Separately from placement, EXPND offers paid training programs for candidates who want to sharpen how they present. These are Optional Training (interview preparation and Loom video introduction optimization) and The Vault (an invite-only 1-to-1 mentorship program). The fee for each is quoted to you before purchase and shown in full at the checkout screen before you pay anything. These fees cover the training content itself — they are not a fee for finding or securing you work, and enrolling in either is not a precondition of being considered for placement if you already meet our experience requirements without it.
Paying for either program buys you no priority and no promise of placement. It does not move you up any list, does not guarantee you will be put forward for any role, and does not guarantee an outcome. It is designed to help you present better, nothing more. Candidates who do not train are considered on exactly the same basis.
4. What we do with your information
We'll use the information you provide (CV, work history, video introduction, assessment scores, etc.) to match you with relevant opportunities and present your profile to businesses we believe are a good fit. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how your data is handled.
5. Our vetting process
We assess candidates on communication, experience, sales ability, coachability, and other factors relevant to the roles we place. This is to ensure a good match for both you and the hiring business — not every candidate who registers will be put forward for every role.
6. No guarantee of placement
EXPND does not guarantee that you will be placed into a role. We are an introduction service: we put candidates in front of businesses that are hiring, and the hiring decision is always the business's. We cannot and do not promise work, income, a minimum number of introductions, or a timeframe.
What we do commit to is that using EXPND costs you nothing, that a person reviews what you send us, and that we will put you forward where we believe you are a genuine fit.
The 90-day replacement guarantee described in our Terms of Business for Hirers is an assurance given to hiring businesses. It is not a guarantee to you, and it gives you no right to a further placement if a role ends.
7. Accuracy of information
You confirm that the information you provide (work history, experience, references) is accurate. Providing false information may result in your account being suspended and any pending applications withdrawn.
8. Ending our relationship
You can withdraw from our talent pool and request deletion of your data at any time by contacting james@expnd.co.uk, subject to the retention terms in our Privacy Policy for records relating to any completed placement. Training program fees — for Optional Training and for The Vault alike — are fully refundable if you request a refund within 14 days of purchase, provided no sessions have taken place. Once a program has started, fees are non-refundable except where required by law. Nothing here removes any cancellation right you have as a consumer under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
9. Complaints
If you have a complaint about our service, contact us at james@expnd.co.uk in the first instance. If unresolved, you can escalate to the Employment Agency Standards Inspectorate (GOV.UK).
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
